Kevin Callaway was born and raised in Southern California. He attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated cum laude with a BA in Creative Writing and Italian. He was awarded Belmont University's Ruby P. Treadway Undergraduate Creative Writing Award. After graduating, he lived in Legnano, Italy, for two years where he taught English at a public high school. Shortly thereafter, he was hired to work on cruise ships as a Junior Assistant Purser. He completed two contracts on two different ships before moving back to Los Angeles. He now works at a cloud-based SaaS startup in Account Implementation. His essays have appeared in the Southern Indiana Review, Chicago Quarterly Review, SLAB, and others.
